چکیده

Ice is produced, and low temperatures generally obtained, by the alternate expansion to the gaseous state and liquefaction of certain substances that lend themselves to the treatment. Nearly all substances may exist in the solid, the liquid, or the gaseous state, the condition they are in at any moment depending upon the pressure to which they are subject and the quantity of heat they have absorbed. We analyzed California hospitals' National Healthcare Safety Network Annual Surveys to describe antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) implementation progress following new state ASP legislation. Lack of Comprehensive Outbreak Detection in Hospitals.

Timely identification of outbreaks of hospital-associated infections is needed to implement control measures and minimize impact. Survey results from 33 hospitals indicated that most hospitals lacked a formal cluster definition and all targeted a very limited group of prespecified pathogens. Standardized, statistically based outbreak detection could greatly improve current practice.

Most hospitals reported regularly using key CDI prevention practices, and perceived their strength of evidence as high.
